The RSCDS Branch in Canberra is a not-for-profit organisation which promotes Scottish Country Dance in the Canberra region. It does this by conducting classes and holding social events at very modest charges for dancers of all levels of experience.
Other Canberra clubs have similar aims, activities and modest fees; all Clubs work cooperatively with each other to prepare a coordinated calendar of classes, social dances and special events.
The Clubs in Canberra are associated with the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, which is a registered Scottish charity dedicated to promoting Scottish Country Dance. The RSCDS has a world-wide network of Branches and Affiliated Groups, with a small administrative team at its central office in Edinburgh; it exists to promote and develop Scottish Country Dancing worldwide for the benefit of present and future generations.
