RSCDS Canberra and District Branch in is a not-for-profit organisation which promotes Scottish Country Dance in the Canberra region. It does this by conducting classes and holding social events at very modest charges for dancers of all levels of experience. Members of the Branch are also members of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, which is a registered Scottish
charity dedicated to promoting Scottish Country Dance. The RSCDS has a
world-wide network of Branches and Affiliated Groups, with a small
administrative team at its central office in Edinburgh; it exists to
promote and develop Scottish Country Dancing worldwide for the benefit
of present and future generations. The Scottish Country Dance Club of Canberra (SCDCC) has similar aims, activities and modest fees. SCDCC is affiliated to the RSCDS in Scotland but membership of RSCDS is not a prerequisite for membership of this club. Both Canberra clubs work together to prepare a coordinated calendar of classes, social dances and special events. Both groups welcome visitors and prospective members, whether they are beginners who have little or no experience of Scottish Country Dancing or experienced dancers. Contact details for both groups may be found at the 'Clubs' tab above. Former clubs no longer active Belconnen Scottish Country Dancers Inc.operated from ........ and closed in May 2018.
